It is an image file. There are different tools to open MDF file formats. You can use
WinRAR > http://allpcworld.com/winrar-free-download/ to open these kind of files

Muneed, I downloaded the file MDF file, converted it to iso burnt it to DVD without a problem and ran ‘set up’. All this without a problem. When when I try to run it I receive the error ‘Original disc could not be found or authenticated’. Do you have any ideas?. Also what is the small OALD9.mds file and the numbers in the ‘Text’ file fore?

Use PowerISO or any other similar tool like Daemon Tools, Alcohol120% etc to load MDF files on virtual disc.

Muneeb, Thank you for your prompt reply. Initially I converted the OALD9.mdf file to an iso file and burnt it to DVD using Norton.

I removed the OALD9 folder from my computer and this time I followed your instructions and
used PowerIOS to create a virtual disc and extracted the OALD9.mdf to the virtual disc. I clicked on set up, run as administrator. The program installed but when I try and run it I still receive the error ‘No disc installed. Please insert the original OALD CD/DVD’.

Your more detailed assistance would be greatly appreciated. I still don’t know what to do with the
OALD9.mds file?

Regards,

Fred.

You’re welcome. You might have unmounted the disc from virtual drive. Make sure that the file is mounted the disk on the virtual drive when you run the application.

Muneeb, Again thank you for your prompt reply. I made sure the virtual drive was mounted (Auto Mount) and that the ‘set-up’ file was also set to auto mount. I still receive the same errors.

Unless you can come up with to help or more precise instructions I’m afraid that reluctantly I’ll have to abandon the OALD9.
Regards,
Fred.

i downloaded the file from zooqle.com which appears to be a magnetic torrent site.the file was sized 4.2Gb . the file came in two which both are MDF files. the first one was about 4.19Gb and the second was 37Kb. Now download and install alcohol tool. after successful installation, mount the 37Kb MDF file. click to open the mounted file in ‘THIS PC’ or ‘MY COMPUTER’since it appears like disc. when the mounted file is opened, you see OALD9 image file and clicked to run it. run using ADMIN. after successful installation, you great to use it. it was so easy to use alcohol.
